Girl Scouts Design Out Unwanted Pets

An endorsed World Design Capital San Diego Tijuana 2024 community initiative, Girl Scouts Design Out Unwanted Pets is a girl-led, design-led take action project that tackles the pets crisis in animal shelters. To earn their Girl Scouts Bronze Award, Troop 4940 is co-designing an app with the San Diego/Tijuana community for pet owners to get the support they need and help pets remain in loving homes. This project puts youth at the center of harnessing humanity-centered design to tackle community challenges in partnership with collaborators like UC San Diego The Design Lab, a Senior Girl Scout, animal shelters, and members of our San Diego/Tijuana community. We would love your feedback to help them co-design this app prototype.

We are looking for an app developer to help our Girl Scouts turn their prototype into a real app! For more information and how to support this project, email Troop 4940 Co-Leaders Michelle Woodhouse and Sarah Cockerill at girlscouttroop4940@gmail.com.
